What percentage of my purchase is donated to the Churches?
100% of the net profits from your purchase will be donated to the list of Churches in Altadena/Pasadena community. Net profits are calculated after covering the costs of production, operating expenses, and applicable taxes. See our price breakdowns below.
How are net profits calculated?
Net profits are the amount left after deducting production costs, operating expenses, and taxes from the total sales price. We ensure transparency and maximize the amount donated by carefully managing these costs.
Can I make an additional donation to the Churches through your site?
No, at this time we do not have a function that will allow you to make additional donations, but you can make your donations at the websites for each church.
Why did you choose these Churches?
Black and Brown churches have historically served as the cornerstone of their communities, offering spiritual guidance, social support, and tangible resources to those in need. They are deeply embedded in the fabric of their neighborhoods, making them uniquely positioned to understand and address the challenges faced by their congregants. Will I receive a receipt or proof of donation?
Yes! After the donation is made, we will provide an update via email or on our website, showing the total amount we have collected and donated, and provide updates over time of how your purchases contributed. Please make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list to stay up to date.
Why is sales tax added to my order?
Sales tax is required by law and is calculated based on your location. It is not part of the donation and goes directly to the government.

Currently, only items labeled “Support for California Fires,” those featured on the California Fire Page, or items specifically mentioning California Fires will have their net profits donated to the Churches. However, by purchasing from our other collections (e.g., the Valentine’s Day Collection), you help support our shop operations and enable us to continue charitable initiatives like this one.
